Member of Technical Staff

As a Member of Technical Staff at Honrly, you'll work directly with the founding team to design, build, and scale the technical foundations of our AI-native recruiting platform.

This isn't a role where you'll simply pick up tickets and ship isolated features. You'll have the opportunity to take ownership of meaningful engineering challenges, influence product decisions, and help shape the architecture and direction of our technology.

You'll work across different parts of the stack, from building intuitive user experiences and scalable backend systems to integrating advanced AI capabilities into real-world recruiting workflows.

We're looking for engineers who are intellectually curious, comfortable with ambiguity, and genuinely excited about solving difficult problems. You'll have significant autonomy, direct exposure to product decisions, and the opportunity to see your work make an immediate impact.

• Build and own core product features: Take end-to-end responsibility for designing, developing, testing, and deploying features that directly impact how companies recruit and hire.
• Develop AI-native systems: Build intelligent workflows that leverage large language models, automation, and machine learning to improve candidate screening, evaluation, and hiring efficiency.
• Architect scalable infrastructure: Design and improve backend services, databases, APIs, and systems that support a growing platform.
• Work across the stack: Contribute wherever the most important problems exist, whether that's frontend development, backend engineering, AI integrations, or infrastructure.
• Solve challenging technical problems: Tackle complex engineering challenges involving performance, reliability, scalability, data processing, and system design.
• Shape the product: Collaborate directly with the founders to translate ideas and customer feedback into thoughtful, practical engineering solutions.
• Move quickly and iterate: Build, experiment, ship, gather feedback, and continuously improve the product.
• Set a high engineering standard: Write clean, maintainable code, make thoughtful architectural decisions, and help establish engineering best practices as the company grows.
• Think beyond the code: Understand the problems our customers face and contribute ideas that make the product simpler, smarter, and more effective.

• You have a strong foundation in computer science, software engineering, and problem-solving.

• You have experience building modern web applications, APIs, or backend systems.

We care more about your ability to build, learn, and solve problems than your job titles, credentials, or years of experience.

• Experience building products powered by large language models (LLMs), AI agents, or machine learning systems.
• Familiarity with LLM APIs, prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), or AI evaluation frameworks.
• Experience working with modern frontend frameworks, backend technologies, and cloud infrastructure.
• Knowledge of distributed systems, database architecture, performance optimization, or asynchronous processing.
• Experience building and scaling SaaS platforms.
• Previous experience at an early-stage startup or working on a product from 0 to 1.
• Experience designing and integrating third-party APIs and services.
• Familiarity with recruiting software, applicant tracking systems, or HR technology.
• Open-source contributions, independent projects, or products you've built and shipped yourself.
