We are seeking a Lead Designer to take complete ownership of the visual and interaction language for our core product, directly impacting investors, shareholders, and issuers. This role demands fluency in both design tools like Figma and an understanding of the codebase, ensuring a seamless transition from concept to implementation. You will champion a restrained, information-dense aesthetic, delivering high-impact interfaces from our New York City office.
About the role
As Lead Designer, you will own the end-to-end visual and interaction language for our core product. This includes all interfaces touched by investors, shareholders, and issuers. You will operate at the intersection of design and development, ensuring a consistent and high-quality user experience. This position is based in New York City.
What you'll do
- Define and evolve the complete visual and interaction language for our product.
- Design and prototype high-fidelity interfaces using Figma.
- Collaborate directly with engineering to ensure design integrity during implementation.
- Establish and maintain design system components and guidelines.
- Conduct user research and testing to validate design decisions.
- Champion a consistent, restrained, and information-dense aesthetic across all product touchpoints.
Who you are
- Proven experience owning the design of complex digital products from concept to launch.
- Expert proficiency with Figma for UI/UX design and prototyping.
- Demonstrated ability to translate complex information into clear, intuitive, and information-dense interfaces.
- Strong understanding of front-end development principles and how design translates to code.
- A portfolio showcasing a restrained, minimalist, and highly functional design aesthetic.
- Excellent communication skills, able to articulate design decisions and rationale.
Nice to have
- Experience designing for financial services, investment platforms, or data visualization tools.
- Familiarity with modern front-end frameworks (e.g., React, Vue) and their design implications.
- Experience contributing to or building a design system from the ground up.
- Prior experience in a startup or fast-paced environment.
